My New Project, FreedomLens

First post on my new project's blog, FreedomLens, talking about why I made it and my plans for it

I would like to announce to you my new, free, non-commercial, educational project, FreedomLens.

Why did I build it

My main goals with this project are to educate as many people as possible about freedom in the world and to have a place to share my thoughts about this topic. The reason I have built it now is because I am going to create my own personal website soon (where this post will also be available), and I think it would be good to show this project there already. That, however, doesn't mean FreedomLens is just for the portfolio; I had this idea in my head for quite a long time, and I am happy that it finally came into existence today.

What are my plans with it

I do not have any huge plans to expand it at the moment. My plans are to help it find some regular readers and users and get it to some level of production readiness and then spend more time on my other projects. That, however, doesn't mean I am gonna leave it behind; I plan to publish my thoughts there on freedom in the world and in different fields, and I can assure you that I have a lot of those. Plus, I am gonna, of course, regularly update the statistics there and work on achieving this project's goals.

Other questions you may have

Are statistics subjective?

No (mostly). FreedomLens currently works as an aggregator of indicators from other sources. I can't guarantee their objectivity, but you can find links to them and their methodology there, so you can check for yourself. As for FreedomLens's own indicators, they are just mathematically processed combinations of other indicators. You can view this formula in the "Build an index" tab.

Are blog posts gonna be subjective?

I will try not to make them subjective, but after all, everything is somehow subjective. I will do my best to provide you with a quality and objective view of the world and freedom in them and distinguish opinion from evidence.

Are there any commercial plans with this?

No.

Those images on the landing page look awful...

Shut up, would you rather have AI slop instead?
